Since the engine is gone, all the connecting or associated components such as the gas tank, fuel lines, radiator, fuel pump, and exhaust pipe are to be removed as well. The motor is connected directly to the existing transmission unit. A series of deep cycle batteries are used to power the electric motor. To supply sufficient power to the motor, ten to fifteen units of lead acid batteries may be necessary.
